  Definition

The International Animation Contest is scheduled from July 6 until September 24, 2007, with winners announced October 28th.

  Eligibility

Internet movies created using Toon Boom Studio, Adobe Flash, Shockwave (.SWF), or other equivalent software packages can be submitted, respecting the theme: "Global Warming" without dialogue.

The production date must be between January 1, 2007 and September 24, 2007. If the creation is interactive, Autoplay will be accepted. Games are not eligible.

  Technical Criteria

• QuickTime (MOV) movies of less than 2 minutes, with a file size not to exceed 5Mb, with a resolution of 640x480 pixels and compressed with the H.264 codec.
• One still image of 640x480 pixels, with a resolution of 300 dpi, PNG Format

  Registration

Between July 6, 2007 and September 24, 2007, participants will be able to enter the contest from the registration form on Toon Boom’s website.

  Soundtrack

If the movie soundtrack has not been created specifically ("pre-existing"), it is necessary to have the copyright authorization available from the author or producer to the registration form, in the event it is required.

  Selection

A committee composed of ASIFA’s representatives will be mandated to select the movies and decide of their admission in the final contest. A minimum of 5 and a maximum of 10 movies will be chosen and submitted to a public vote. The evaluation committee will not have to justify its decisions.

  Promotion

The authors and rights owners grant to the organizers a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and distribute the Image(s)/Clip of their respective films solely for promotional purposes in the printed and online media. They also grant them the right to present excerpts of their respective films, up to 25%, on the various TV channels or other media.

  Vote

The selected movies will be posted on Toon Boom’s web site and visitors will be able to vote from October 8, 2007 to October 21, 2007.

  Winners

The three movies that obtain the highest vote will be showcased online for a year on Toon Boom’s website (a link will also be available from the ASIFA website and it’s various chapters). Movies will also be screened in different cities during the evening celebrating the International Animation Celebration Day on October 28th, 2007. The three winners will also receive a copy of  Toon Boom Digital Pro.

  Unforeseen issues and complaints

The contest organizers shall not be liable for any decision that they make related to unforeseen issues and for granting special derogation for requests sent in writing. Participating at the contest implies full agreement with the contest rules, without exception.
