  Growing Up Animating in Egypt
July 2008: Born in 1995, Aladdin Assem Abdul Fattah was 9 years old when he started using Toon Boom Studio. He now attends Al-Hedaya Language prep school in Egypt. Initally he worked with his older brother, drawing simple illustrations and animating them with Toon Boom Studio. “Later we decided to work separately to do our own animation. We tried a lot upgrading our animation using the features and simplicity of Toon Boom Studio. I love it so much because it makes it easy for me to do what I want and what I love doing," he commented.

May 2008: Baird Hoffmire has been working for August House as an illustrator/animator for five years and Tom Wrenn began about three years ago. They use Toon Boom Studio create 4-to-7 minute animations for their website www.StoryCove.com. These animations are based on folktales from around the world and serve as educational tools as well. Each animation has a companion book, activities, downloads and lesson plans that teachers like to use in a classroom setting. "Lip syncing alone saved us huge amounts of time. It turned hours worth of work plotting mouth positions into a few minutes of work," stated Tom.

January 2008: Stephen Sloan was born in 1979, in Burlington, Ontario. He moved to Ottawa, Ontario to study animation at Algonquin College. Upon graduation, he started working in an animation studio. Stephen started using Toon Boom Harmony when he went to work for Mercury Filmworks. "I fell in love with the program and picked up the Studio version for myself. I've entered several competitions and created a web series using the software. (..)The reason I went ga-ga over Toon Boom when I started using it at Mercury was that, unlike Flash, it was an animation software designed FOR animation," he shared.
