Welcome to a tutorial about Key Drawings. Key Drawing is the drawing at the beginning and the end of the action. In the case of my bouncing ball it's the first drawing before the bounce and the drawing at the end as the ball lands. Key Drawings are used in animation to quickly give the idea of action. They are also used in storyboarding. The animator would receive the storyboard with the key drawings as the guide for animation. Key Drawings are sometimes refereed to as key frames because it's time on the screen is measured in frames. The remaining drawings between the Key Drawings are called Inbetweens.
