Installation Procedure for Single (purple) Dongle

DP0001: Installation Procedure for Single (purple) Dongle.

NOTE: This procedure is for users who have Internet access on the machine where Digital Pro is installed. If the machine where Digital Pro is installed does not have internet access and you wish to obtain license.dat on a machine where there is internet access, please go to Installation Procedure to obtain license.dat from remote machine to continue the installation.

Glossary

License.dat: This is the license file that you need to obtain in order to run Digital Pro.
This license file contains the Toon Boom Digital Pro features and unique Dongle ID number matched to your dongle.
Through this installation procedure, you will be able to download it.

Dongle: It is the little plastic (purple or red) USB device that you need to insert in your USB port in order to run Toon Boom Digital Pro.

HASP key driver: It is the Dongle driver that let your machine recognize the Dongle. If you have not installed this driver during Toon Boom Digital Pro installation procedure, please see the Preparation section for more information about installing the right device driver.

Product code: This is 25-digit alphanumeric code on the CD sleeve or attached cardboard product key card of the DVD case.
The product code is used to register your product and also to get license.dat.

Preparation

If you are not sure if you have installed Digital Pro or not, please install it from the installation CD by inserting it and choose 'HASP driver' and go to 'HASP_HL_driver_setup' folder and install 'HASPUserSetup.exe' (for Window users). For Mac users, insert the Toon Boom Digital Pro installation CD and click the 'License Manager' folder icon and then click 'HDD_Installer_MacOXS.dmg' to install before proceeding to the License Wizard.

In order to run your Toon Boom Digital Pro, you need to have a license.dat matched to your Dongle so that this product can be registered under your user (member) account. Registering your product code will also ensure that you are full entitled as the owner of your Digital Pro product. In order to do so, you will need to have a Toon Boom Members account ready for the license generation. You will also need the 25-digit alphanumeric product code ready to process below. Lastly, you need to have a internet access to complete your registration. If your workstation does not have internet access, please use a computer with internet access to generate your license.

Step 1. Please insert the Toon Boom Digital Pro Dongle into a working USB port on your workstation.

Note: If you have more one dongle attached to your computer, please remove them all except for the Toon Boon Digital Pro Dongle. Also if you have any other HASP dongle on the local network, please disconnect your network cable to prevent the network Dongle information from overriding the Toon Boom Digital Pro Dongle information and instead being used to generate the Digital Pro License as this will generate a faulty license. You may safely re-attach all dongles after generating your Digital Pro License.

Step 2. Please run the License Wizard and click next. You can find the License Wizard through:

Windows: Start>All Programs>Toon Boom Animation>Toon Boom Digital Pro (Educational) Tools

Mac: In Finder, Application>Toon Boom Digital Pro (Educational)>Tools

Note: If your License Wizard appears different from the image above, please patch it after registering your product. This installation guide will instruct you on how to do this further down.

Step 3. Once you have inserted the Toon Boon Digital Pro dongle, you will be able to see the Dongle ID. Here is an example of the Dongle ID; please note that your dongle ID is different from the Dongle ID in the image shown below. Now for first-time installation users, please choose 멊y Internet?and Click next. If you have unplugged the network cable from step 1, please plug it now since we now need to register your product code online.

Step 4. Click 'Go to Registration Page?to access to member's login pages. If you do not have internet access, you can do this from any computer that has internet access.

Step 5. Please login to your Toon Boom Member's page. If you do not have one yet, you can 'sign up now'and activate your account first through your email and then login.

Step 6. Please verify that your Dongle ID number from step 3 is matching with the current dongle number. Please note that this is an example of a Digital Pro Dongle ID and that your dongle ID will be different from the Dongle ID in the image shown below. Now enter the 25-digit product code carefully with case-sensitive characters since you only have one chance to do this. Your product code will be "locked" after use and may not be used again to generate a Digital Pro license.

Once you are done, you will see the license on the following page and you can copy & paste it as in Step 8. Or wait for the email (to the address used in your member's account) where you will be sent the license.dat for Digital Pro, as an attachment.

Step 7. Please go back to 'obtain License?page and click next.

Step 8. You can copy & paste the license on the button of the empty area or just drag and drop the license.dat from your email into the panel.

Step 9. After you have added the license file, click next to finish the installation.

For the people who do not have the same License Wizard interface as show picture above, you need to patch your current Digital Pro at this point. Please visit your member뭩 page at http://www.toonboom.com/members/ and login. Then you will see the patch downloadable on your 몀y products?tab.

Step 10. Lastly, if you already have the license and you need to install it on new machine or fresh installation, you can select 멗 already have a license?from Step 3 and continue from Step 8 above.
