Depending on the model of your Tablet PC you might encounter situation in which your cursor lag behind the position of your pen when you are drawing. This is related to the computer not being able to allocate enough ressources to the software and might happen with old models of Tablet PC. In any case there are some ways to increase the performances of your machine to reduce the extent of this behavior.

1. Wacom drivers

Make sure that you have installed the latest drivers available for your Tablet PC. Also, make sure that before you install the new driver you have uninstalled the previous ones.

2. Toon Boom Studio

Inside Toon Boom Studio you should disable some of the display function that necessite lot from your video card. To access those you will need to open the application and go in Edit>Preferences. Then go under the display tab and disable the following options:
- Disable Hardware Acceleration (checked)
- Disable Overlay (checked)
- Smooth Textures & Bitmaps (unchecked)
- Smooth Tools (unchecked)
- Smooth Pegs (unchecked)
- Use Small Tiles for Rendering Textures & Bitmaps (unchecked)
- OpenGL Full Scene Anti-Aliasing (unchecked)
- Select OpenGL as your Renderer

3. Optimizing Computer Performances

There are some settings included in the OS that can enhance the performances of your Tablet PC. They can be accessed in the following way:

Right click on "My Computer" from your desktop and go in Properties. Then enter the Advanced tab. In the Performance area click on Settings then in the new window access the Visual Effects tab. Select the Custom radio button and disable all but the following option:
-Show Shadow under menu
-Show Shadow under mouse pointer
-Show translucent selection rectangle
-Use drop shadow for icon lables on the desktop
- Use visual styles on windows and buttons
Once done access the Advanced tab and change Processor scheduling to Background services, Memory usage to Programs and click the Change button in the Virtual memory section. In the new window select Custom and set both the Initial size and Maximum size to 4096 then press the Set button. Then apply all changes by pressing OK in all the currently opened window and restart your computer.

This should address the performance issue with some old models of Tablet PC.
