You may encounter situation where after selecting a drawing tool the mouse cursor does not refresh properly and you end up with the arrow instead of the crossair, which make drawing quite tedious since the stroke end up appearing from the middle of the arrow instead of the tip of it.

This is most likely caused by some theme you are using that modifies the cursor size or look. You should be able to address this by reverting back to the default theme by going in the Control Panel>Mouse>Pointers tab and select (None). This should refresh your mouse cursor. Try running the software afterward and see if you get better behavior. You might be able to revert back to your old scheme once the cursor refreshes properly.
