Marketing and Communications Manager
The Marketing and Communications Manager is responsible for all activities related to developing and implementing proactive, strategically-driven marketing, communications, advertising and promotional strategies. The right candidate will be expected to quickly ramp-up with a comprehensive understanding of our industry, our partners, customers and target markets in order to support the day-to-day activities related to achieving our business goals. These activities include ownership of public relations, partnerships, participation at events, advertisements, blog and social media management and the nurturing of industry and customer relationships. As the marketing and communications manager, you will be the go-to-person for the Marketing and Sales teams in support of marketing-specific needs.
Build and maintain relationships and manage inbound inquiries from customers, prospective users, partners and industry contacts. Liaise with staff to gather information and respond properly and in a timely manner.
Provide professional communications and public relations support in the development and implementation of marketing outreach programs. Oversee the distribution of internal and external company announcements.
Engage, collaborate and manage relationships and agreements with marketing contractors and subject matter experts in support of key marketing activities.
Connect with key influencers, media outlets and journalists to build industry relationships and collaborate with stakeholders to promote brand awareness and thought leadership opportunities via speaking opportunities, PR and media activities.
Own event strategy, research, planning, booth setup, shipping related material, sponsorships, contests, promotional giveaways/swag and communications. This includes working with event organizers, and design teams for on-site collateral and strategies that generate event-related leads.
Assist with the production of communications and creative materials including coordinating the collection of visual assets for brochures, presentations, videos, newsletters, social media posts, photography and videography.
Own the growth of blog subscribers with consistent development of resonating blog content by scouting articles/topics, managing contributors, authoring and editing articles. This includes ensuring that content is optimized for SEO and promoting a culture of continuous strategic and tactical improvement.
Be the point of contact for all advertisements and write ups in all online and print publications.
Plan, execute, measure and report on all marketing communication efforts, collaborate with team to create promotional email campaigns, landing pages and A/B tests to continuously optimize user experience and results.
Develop and manage our brand ambassador program to assist with Marketing activities that strengthen the brand visibility worldwide.
Monitor and stay abreast of industry best practices and market trends, research industry, competitor and customer news daily to advise the Sales and Marketing teams on threats, risks and opportunities on a timely basis.
Maintain effective internal communications to ensure that all relevant departments are kept informed of marketing objectives and progress. Monitor, review and report on all marketing activity and report on effectiveness.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or related field or equivalent experience required.
5+ years experience working in a marketing and communications role managing events, nurturing relationships and creating, editing, and promoting written and visual content (preferably in software, animation or media industries).
2+ years of project management experience.
An inherent always-present attribute of self-motivation, thoroughness and attention to detail is a critical requirement for this role. We are looking for someone with an outstanding drive to succeed.
An accountable self-starter with excellent leadership, communication, social and presentation skills who is able to influence and negotiate with different personalities.
A proven ability to handle multiple projects at once, while supporting multiple stakeholders to drive results and consistently optimize outcomes.
An outstanding ability to listen, ask relevant questions, understand, communicate, focus and execute confidently is a must.
2-3 years of extensive writing and editing experience to adopt the style, tone, and voice to various individuals and types of content.
Data-driven mindset - committed to the importance of tracking and analyzing results for optimization and scale with regards to all related marketing activities
Superior organizational skills in order to work independently on a variety of projects involving multiple parties with many moving parts.
Multilingualism is an asset but not a requirement.
