Product Marketing Manager
In this role, you will understand the market landscape, define product positioning, as well as manage the product’s marketing release process. Working closely with marketing, sales, R&D and the product management team, the ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic and changing environment. Attention to detail and an eye for quality, along with the ability to grasp and translate technical capabilities into benefits is crucial.
You will be responsible for defining the market position within the context of the overall product strategy. This means you will be building and executing the go-to-market plans, conducting competitor analysis, market research, and be tight with the sales team to inform the strategic positioning of the product to customers, partners, and market influencers. In this role you will be responsible for developing messaging, positioning, buyer personas, value propositions, USP’s, marketing and sales enablement programs, developing case studies and thought leadership.
You are also someone who is comfortable giving product demonstrations at trade shows and delivering webinars, delivering presentations to customers and prospects, as well as creating marketing collateral.
Share and evangelize the value proposition of our products and releases both internally and externally and help develop the sales tools that help move prospects through the sales funnel (buyer’s journey).
Differentiate and elevate the Toon Boom offering with strong product positioning and core messaging.
Be a subject matter expert to evangelize and represent Toon Boom at industry events and tradeshows.
Be the expert on our buyers, study how they buy and their buying criteria; be the expert on our competition, communicate our competitive advantages and how to win against them.
Contribute responses to product-related commentary on TB social and on user forums.
Coordinate with Product Management and Sales on product pricing and packaging.
Author and develop product-related content for webinars, blogs, whitepapers, success stories, case studies, website copy, datasheets, collateral, press releases and feature videos/demos.
Develop a deep knowledge and understanding of the market through research and analysis (interviews, focus groups, surveys, sales data, etc.) and leverage key customer insights to develop accurate, relevant and impactful messaging, and work with internal teams to ensure implementation across all channels.
Productize Service Offerings – Work with the professional services team to package and articulate Toon Boom’s service offerings.
Product Reviews and Awards – Work with industry associations, analysts, influencers and media agencies to track and submit Toon Boom applications for product reviews and awards.
5+ years of software product marketing experience.
3 years of project management expertise.
University degree from a business, marketing, communications or technical-related discipline.
Excellent written and verbal communication coupled with strong presentation skills.
Strong attention to detail and sense of urgency.
Understanding of product development lifecycle and a strong ability develop resonating value-added messaging from technical specs and features.
Proven experience with market/competitive research, product/services launch strategies and implementation, and marketing/sales collateral development.
Experience developing and validating positioning, messaging, competition, segmentation and go-to-market strategies.
Results-oriented, resourceful, and able to handle the pace and multiple demands in a fast-moving but fun environment.
A creative self-starter who is team player and is able to work with minimal supervision. Someone willing to take initiative, and who exudes a confident ‘can do’ attitude.
Experience with visual content creation or graphic design a plus.
