Mercury Filmworks is looking for a skilled, eager and experienced Human Resource Manager to join our team. This role will report to the Senior Vice President, Business Affairs and Legal and will play a pivotal role in the organization. This role is both hands-on and strategic and provides expertise in the areas of employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, employee engagement, learning and development, and ad hoc projects as necessary. Responsibilities - Provide coaching on a variety of Human Resources related topics to all levels of the organization with a focus on employee relations. - Advise management and supervisors regarding disciplinary actions, conduct employee intervention, conflict resolution, and employee relations investigations. - Manage and resolve Employee Relations issues through effective and objective investigation processes, ensuring adherence to appropriate employment laws and policies. - Collaborate with our legal team on high level issues. - Recommend, develop, and implement new HR processes as required - Provide counsel and guidance on complex employee matters - Deliver both strategic and tactical HR support and programs to employees and managers, including performance management, organizational design, learning and development, compensation programs and employee relations - Proactively identify opportunities to enhance the employee experience and partner with management to develop and implement innovative and sustainable solutions - Consult and coach all levels of management to build and serve high performing, diverse and inclusive teams - Build credibility and trust among employees; resolve employee concerns with compassion and follow-through - Supports employees and management to communicate and to answer questions related to various human resources policies, procedures, program, laws, and other government regulations. - Provides timely written and verbal communication to management on various Human Resource issues. - Manage relationship with benefits providers and assists employees as required

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in relevant work experience - HR Certification preferred - 7+ years’ experience as a Human Resource Manager or similar HR role - Working knowledge of Canadian employment and labor law required - Experience with Immigration and Work Visas - Applied knowledge of local labor laws and statutes for employment across Canada provinces with thorough understanding and hands-on application of internal and external HR principles, practices and standards - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to assess situations and make decisions based on data while drawing from previous experience - Demonstrated experience with coaching employees and management - Demonstrated ability to effectively partner and collaborate with all levels of the organization and positively influence teams - Proven organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle multiple tasks - Strong written and verbal communication; must be a clear and concise communicator - Consult and advise on talent reviews - Ability to express and present information clearly, both orally and in writing
