Nilayan is an Indian visual development artist and animator with over five years of experience in the animation industry. He has had the pleasure to work with amazing studios including Brunch Studio, Iksa Studio, BRIKK Animation, Monkey Wrench, CRUX Studio and Studio Eeksaurus among many others. Nilayan graduated from Gobelins, Paris in 2021 and is currently working as a freelancer.

"In Paris, under the patronage of Guillermo Del Toro, I obtained my master's degree in Animated Filmmaking at Gobelins, L'école de L'image. As a storyboard artist I had the chance to work on shows for Adult Swim, DNEG and others. I enjoy the process of building good stories, like writing scripts or doing concept art. I have many written ideas I plan to develop someday. As a Director, I've developed a few shorts who won awards. Recently, I received partial funding for my new animated short film."

After working for studios in Mexico, Colombia, Canada and the UK for 15+ years, and the last 7 as a Lead Animator, I should confess I'm not really an animator, don't know anything about animation and don't really know what I've been doing all this time, but I've enjoyed the occasional free pizza and beer. Currently working as a Lead Harmony animator at Passion Pictures in London (until they find out, of course).
