October’s a busy month for the Toon Boom Animation Livestream! On October 3rd, we hosted the theme announcement for the 24 HOURS Animation Contest for Students with special guest Pete Docter. Our livestream schedule also includes a show & tell session for Simon Yéretsian's action animatics, an art stream with Marie-Ève Lacelle and Vanessa Bouchard, and a Storyboard Pro improv stream with Mike Morris and Steven Silver.
We will also be attending LightBox Expo IRL with a special session, animating a 2D character rig in Harmony Premium live and in-person. If you drop by our booth be sure to stop by and say hello!

The theme for this year's 24 HOURS Animation Contest for Students was announced live on Toon Boom Animation’s YouTube channel on Friday, October 3rd. This free event challenges students around the world to compete in teams of five to produce a 30-second animated film in just 24 hours. During the livestream Pete Docter (CCO of Pixar) revealed 2025’s theme: “Flip your perspective.”

Simon Yéretsian is a storyboard artist and 2D animator with professional experience in both the videogame and animation industries. We invited Simon onto our livestream to take us on a walkthrough of his personal projects in Storyboard Pro and discuss his path to storyboarding for Gearbox Studio Quebec. We will also be asking Simon for his advice for artists interested in working with game studios.

Marie-Ève Lacelle is a solutions specialist at Toon Boom Animation who trains artists at major studios around the world. Her CV includes animation on Wakfu, along with multiple production roles on Big Hero 6: The Series and Glitch Techs. In her art streams, Marie-Ève demonstrates tools and workflows in Harmony Premium with guest artist. This week's guest is Vanessa Bouchard (character design supervisor).
