Paperless Animation

Paperless Animation is intended for artists who are new to paperless animation in Harmony but are familiar with basic animation principles. Participants will use Harmony Premium to learn the fundamentals of frame-by-frame animation using traditional and digital tools through introductory exercises and by both building and animating real-world production scenes.

Course Format

The format of this class is instructor-led and is a hands-on activity lab.

Objectives

At the end of this class, the attendee will be able to:

  • Create rough key poses and breakdown using digital drawing tools
  • Create basic layout and posing using the Guide tools
  • Effectively use reference tools like the Onion Skin and Shift & Trace
  • Tie-down and clean up animations using drawing tools optimized for production
  • Animate a production scene with sound and lip-sync
  • Create colour palettes and paint animation using art layers
