Studio Tour: Bardel Entertainment

Bardel Entertainment is an animation studio founded in Vancouver by Barry Ward and Delna Bhesania (the Bar and Del in Bardel). In the 1990s the studio animated The Raccoons and The Ren & Stimpy Show, and is more recently known for their work on Rick & Morty, The Dragon Prince, and Carol & The End of the World. In addition to their series work, Bardel Entertainment has also been involved in mentorship and outreach programs, including with Britannia Elementary, so we invited Johnny Tesoro (head of 2D animation) and Kenten Bowick (Harmony technical director) to discuss their experiences working at their studio as well as the role of mentorship in the animation industry.

Story artist Mike Morris has had a career that’s been… well, storied. Having spent most of his youth in California, it was a quick move for him to Los Angeles. In the City of Angels, he has developed a thriving career and is best known for his work on television series. Special guest Alessandra Sorrentino is an art director, animator and storyboard artist known for her work on Nimona, Wolfwakers, and Ron’s Gone Wrong.
