Brand and Content Marketing Manager

The Brand and Content Marketing Manager is responsible for brand integrity and content marketing / sales enablement strategies. This marketing role operates at the intersection of multiple departments including Product, R&D, Customer Success, Sales and of course, Marketing. This individual is in charge of developing content, proper positioning and ensuring consistent messaging (both internal and external), and ensuring that the brand culture and corporate messaging is understood and shared across all departments.

Reporting directly to the Director of Research & Development, you will be overseeing all QA related aspects of the development of our products. You will be providing technical leadership and guidance as well as mentoring to a team of QA Analysts, while developing QA strategies for improving and leveraging our applications. You will be responsible for implementing and generating test plans to ensure that all quality standards are followed. Your understanding of software testing methodologies, possible issues/bugs, and development processes will give you the ability to lead our QA team and help ensure smooth product deliveries.

Responsibilities include

Content Marketing

  • Lead planning and execution of global content marketing strategy to drive leads and engage customer base. Project manage content launches from campaign creation to go to market, working with other marketing managers.

  • Own editorial process and execution within the marketing team.

  • Own community development efforts: Blog, Brand Ambassadors, Webinars etc.

  • Responsible for managing and scaling creative team/contractors; copywriting and visual design content creation that supports marketing efforts effectively.

  • Work collaboratively with web team on visual design and content.

  • Work with Digital Marketing Analyst on paid marketing efforts including content sponsorships and/or partnerships to ensure they promote brand awareness and/or conversion

  • Work with product marketing, educational marketing, marcomm/PR, social media and channel marketing managers to ensure content is being developed and taken to market in the most effective way.

  • Work with marcomm and product marketing to ensure customer quotes, testimonials and visual materials align with product strategies and Toon Boom brand requirements.

  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between marketing, product management, creative services to deliver a mix of effective marketing content. For example, work with Customer Success, Marcomm and Product Management on customer content acquisition and demo asset creation to provide marketing, sales, Trainers, demo artists and product managers compelling visual content to promote and sell Toon Boom products and services.

  • Work with Customer Success on Learn Portal to ensure effectiveness of marketing messages and brand awareness

  • Be an expert in Toon Boom and competing product key selling points in order to build and maintain competitive analysis that informs marketing strategies and campaigns.

Sales Enablement

  • Work with Sales and Customer Success to ensure content is taken to market in the most effective way.

  • Work with Product Marketing, Product Management, Channel Marketing Management and Sales to develop strategies for training teams globally (sales, resellers, agents).

  • Create and direct the strategy for sales enablement:

    • Lead development of tools and resources for the sales team, agents and resellers.

    • Work with Channel Marketing Manager to communicate with/understand the needs of agents and resellers to: understand pain points, develop best practices based and key learnings; provide guidance; and work to improve adoption of tools

    • Work with Product marketing and sales to translate product value propositions and marketing objectives into compelling sales narratives.

  • Review existing sales assets and pitches, use cases and customer stories to determine if Sales has appropriate messaging for all touch points in the buyers’ journey.

  • Oversee the development of different training modules needed for different types of sales professionals to ensure maximum effectiveness in sales enablement (individual or small group instruction, self-paced learning, simulation and role play exercises, distance learning, webinars, video conferencing, etc.)

  • Lead efforts to train and enable the Sales team and resellers/agents on key skills, messaging, product knowledge (key features and benefits), and process.

  • Work with internal experts and stakeholders to develop and deliver sales training that continually evolves based on customer needs, industry trends, product value and evolution, competitive positioning

  • Partner with Sales Operations Manager to increase sales effectiveness. Review (and innovate when necessary) assets including sales playbooks, competitive fact sheets, and other content to better support sales and client services teams.

  • Partner with Sales Operations Manager to oversee development and execution of welcome packages, onboarding and training plans; roll up summary reports of all training delivered, tracking performance to metrics.

  • Partner with Sales Operations manager to assess the success of product and skills training programs and report into to Sales and Marketing leadership to ensure they are effectively aligned with Business Strategy and Goals.

  • Stay current on new training methods, product and competition, and best practices.

  • Understand sales report design and analytics.

Brand Management

  • Responsible for adapting brand strategy for target market.

  • Own deep understanding of brand position within the market and share this information with marketing team to inform how we take messages and content to market.

  • Oversee and maintain brand integrity across all company marketing activities and communications (promote and protect)

  • Guide graphic designers and video content creators to ensure delivery of on-brand messages

  • Work with all teams (Sales, Customer Services, Product Management, Support) to ensure communication of a cohesive Toon Boom message that is on brand

  • Oversee advertising, social and other marketing activities to ensure the right message is delivered for Toon Boom products and services

  • Track and promote brand awareness

Requirements

  • 5+ years project management

  • 5+ years product marketing experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communication coupled with strong presentation skills

  • Strong attention to detail, time management skills and sense of urgency

  • Understanding of product lifecycle and strong ability to develop resonating value-added messaging

  • Experience developing and validating positioning, messaging, competition, segmentation and GTM strategies.

  • Results oriented, resourceful and able to handle the pace and multiple demands in a fast moving but fun environment.

  • Creative self-starter who is a team player and able to work with minimal supervision. Someone willing to take initiative and who exudes a confident can-do attitude.
